The Tinsel Triathlon, set to be held in Hemet, Calif. on Dec. 12, will feature several unique aspects.

The sprint-distance triathlon draws nearly 1,200 athletes and takes place in the reverse order of a traditional triathlon. It includes a 5-kilometer run, a 12-mile bike ride and a 150-meter pool swim and raises money for the United Way. As of last year inline skating has also become a part of the race. The inline skaters kick off the day by skating the 12-mile bike course. This year’s event will also include a category for challenged athletes.
