Syracuse To Host Ironman 70.3 In 2010

World Triathlon Corporation is pleased to announce that Syracuse, New York will play host one of 35 events in the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Series. The inaugural race will take place on Sunday, September 19, 2010 and will encompass a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike and a 13.1-mile run course through central New York.
Registration for Ironman 70.3 Syracuse will open on September 1, 2009, at 9 a.m. EDT. Athletes will be vying for total of 50 qualifying slots to the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 held each November in Clearwater, Florida. Ironman 70.3 Syracuse becomes the only Ironman 70.3 qualifier in a tri-state region of the NorthEast.

In a city that has made a name for itself in the world of sports, hosting events such as: NCAA Basketball Tournament, Empire State Games, BASS Series and IronGirl, 2010 proves to be the year of sports for Syracuse with NCAA Basketball Tournament, the US Snowshoe Championships, and the addition of Ironman 70.3 Syracuse.
