Top triathletes will compete in TriStar Mallorca on Sunday, April 17.
As Chris McCormack continues his quest to sweep all 2011 TriStar races, numerous contenders, from late-entries (and two-time Ironman world champ) Normann Stadler and five-time Ironman France champ Marcel Zamora to Lothar Leder (the first person to go sub-8 hours in an Ironman) and Ain-Alar Juhanson (a two-time Lanzarote champ) will join the race for the title.
The race takes place in the village of Portocolom in the South East of Mallorca with more than 300 athletes competing in either the TriStar55.5 or the TriStar111, featuring a 1K swim, 100K bike, and 10K run.
Local favorite Zamora, a Catalan triathlete and one of the great national benchmarks of the sport, already knows the TriStar format. Zamora is a cycling specialist, and a lightspeed marathon runner. Macca on the other hand, is preparing for the 2012 London Olympics, and is hoping to add more speed by competing in shorter-distance races.
