Kenneth Yates pleaded guilty on Friday in the 2009 drunken-driving death of John Carr, who was killed while racing in a triathlon in the Freys Hill area of Louisville, Kentucky.
Yates, 27, pleaded guilty in Jefferson Circuit Court to 1st degree manslaughter, driving drunk, failure to stop and render aid, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest and assault 3rd degree, among other charges.
The plea agreement calls for a 15-year prison sentence, and Yates will be formally sentenced on Nov. 24.
