High school students from Western Jamaica will learn more about swimming, biking and running this weekend.
For the second year, student/athletes from western Jamaica will benefit from a workshop held in collaboration with the Jamaica Triathlon that will be staged at the Iberostar hotel this weekend, Nov. 11-13.
The students from the high schools in the region will be taught the fundamentals of the three sporting disciplines that make up the triathlon — swimming, cycling and running — by experts in each sport in the one-day event sponsored by Ocean Spray Wata.
At the launch, Tamara Ward of Wisynco, said a number of experts including Christian Tavares-Finson of the Jamaica Cycling Federation, athlete Juliet Cuthbert and former national swimming coach Jackie Walters will be among the presenters at the workshops.
The triathlon, which will have its fourth staging and has had a name change from the Rose Hall Triathlon and was launched two Wednesdays ago at Iberostar.
