Ochsner Ironman 70.3 New Orleans announces new course changes for the 2010 event.

The swim start and swim exit locations will be in the same place for the 2010 event.  This will give athletes the opportunity to walk along the beach front to swim start which is now located near the transition area at the University of New Orleans Research & Technology Park.  This change will also allow spectators to watch athletes at both the swim start and swim exit.

The transition area will now be in the large grass field between the Lindy Boggs Conference Center and the United States Naval Office Complex.  This grass field will give athletes a better surface to run on after completing the swim course and its shape is a square instead of the rectangular  transition area used for the inaugural event.

The start and finish of the 56-mile bike course will utilize Elysian Fields Avenue to Leon C. Simon and not Lakeshore Drive for the 2010 event.
