Berkeley, Calif. – GU, the world’s leading provider of energy gel announced today that it has added pro triathletes, Rebeccah and Laurel Wassner to their roster of sponsored athletes.
While Rebeccah has won 14 professional triathlon races in the past 2 years including the St. Anthony’s, Philadelphia and New York City Triathlons, Laurel is the first cancer survivor to earn status as a professional triathlete and was named 2008 USA Triathlon Pro Rookie of the Year. Brooke Kennedy, Marketing Manager for GU Energy Labs said, “Laurel and Rebeccah are not only two top-tier triathletes, their personal stories are inspirational to all athletes and individuals around the world. They are perfect ambassadors for our brand, and we’re excited to support them in what appears to be a very promising 2010 for them.”
“We are honored to be part of GU’s elite team of athletes,” commented Rebeccah Wassner. “Nutrition is an integral part of our training and racing.” We rely on GU for great tasting fuel that keeps us energized while we’re competing,” added Laurel.
