Brown was Massachusetts U.S. Senator from 2010-2013. Before that, Brown was a member of the state’s General Court in the House of Representatives from 1998-2004, and then in the State Senate from 2004-10. He also served in the Army National Guard for 35 years and retired just last year with the rank of colonel. Brown serves on a number of boards as a director or in an advisory capacity, and he currently is a contracted contributor with FOX News, making appearances on “The O’Reilly Factor,” “Fox & Friends,” “Outnumbered” and more. A long-time accomplished triathlete, Brown will be competing this weekend in the USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in Milwaukee.
“I have truly enjoyed being a multisport athlete, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve with so many other accomplished athletes, business and philanthropic leaders,” Brown said. “Serving is an opportunity to give back and help drive more youth interest in our sport and encourage those people who may not have supported triathlon in the past, to do so now.”
In his role on the Foundation Board, Brown will focus on fundraising to support the Foundation’s efforts to create opportunities that otherwise may not exist for youth, paratriathletes and aspiring Olympians. Brown will play an instrumental role in the Foundation’s efforts to support initiatives that instill a lifetime of fitness in young athletes, open the doors to participation for aspiring paratriathletes and fuel the Olympic dreams of America’s rising stars.
“We are thrilled to have Scott join the USA Triathlon Foundation Board of Directors,” said Jacqueline McCook, President of the Foundation Board. “He will be a tremendous asset as we drive to establish a strong governance and contributor base. As an accomplished triathlete, Scott understands how the multisport lifestyle can truly make a difference in the lives all who participate.”
