The world’s largest and most prized consumer show and endurance sports awards event returns to San Diego on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011.

EnduranceliveFormerly known as the TriExpo and Endurance Sports Awards, the event has been rebranded as endurance LIVE, the ultimate daylong extravaganza for the active lifestyle consumer, featuring a daytime consumer show and evening awards gala honoring both male and female Triathlete, Runner and Cyclist of the Year.

The endurance LIVE consumer show unites running, cycling and triathlon enthusiasts eager for a preview of next season’s best gear and technology in one all-inclusive expo. Both consumers and industry professionals are invited to demo the latest products in the market, participate in training clinics hosted by the top athletes and experts and participate in interactive group workouts and Q&A sessions. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center in Hall H.

The consumer show will be followed by the endurance LIVE Awards Gala Saturday evening. Each year, Competitor Group honors the world’s greatest endurance athletes, including Olympic gold medalists, Ironman World Champions and Tour de France podium finishers, and awards the industry’s highest honors with the Competitor Runner of the Year, the Triathlete of the Year and the VeloNews Cyclist of the Year.  Formerly named the Endurance Sports Awards, the endurance LIVE Awards Gala will celebrate its 19th anniversary in style at the Hard Rock Hotel located in downtown San Diego.

“It is exciting to assemble an event celebrating every facet of endurance sports from running to cycling and triathlon highlighting the global growth of the industry and bestowing the industry’s top honors,” said Bouker Pool, senior vice president of marketing for the Competitor Group. “This event offers unparalleled access to some of today’s premier endurance sports athletes. With its group runs, swims and rides, endurance LIVE creates an opportunity for fans to come out, meet and honor some of the best athletes in the world.”

Notable attendees include U.S. Olympian and American record holder in the marathon, Deena Kastor; U.S. Olympian and Half-Marathon Record Holder Ryan Hall; 2010 Ironman World Champion, Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae; 2010 Ironman World Champion Chris McCormack (“Macca”), with special video appearances from top cyclists competing in the Tour Down Under and more.  Authors and athletes Dean Karnazes (Ultramarathon Man) and Chris Carmichael (The Time Crunched Cyclist) will also be in attendance at the awards show.
