Americans David Thompson and Rebeccah Wassner are the current leaders of the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon Series Race to the Toyota Cup standings.

As the only man to finish all three races at this point in the series, Thompson’s point total of 22,000 easily gives him the lead over the United States’ Matt Reed and the Czech Republic’s Filip Osplay.
With a second place finish at the Lifetime Fitness Triathlon and a win at last weekend’s Nautica New York City Triathlon, Wassner leads fellow Americans Nicole Kelleher and Mary Beth Ellis. Last year’s Toyota Cup winner, Sarah Haskins, sits in ninth position because she has only raced once in the series.
Despite the series having two clear leaders at this point, the Race to the Toyota Cup is still wide open with three races still remaining. Next up, the series heads to the Chicago Triathlon on Aug. 29. The final two races will be the Los Angeles Triathlon (Oct. 3) and the U.S. Open Triathlon in Dallas (Oct. 10).
