After a fifth-place finish at the 2013 Ironman World Championship, Switzerland’s Caroline Steffen says she won’t return to teamTBB for the 2014 season.

Steffen revealed the news to the Swiss newspaper Neue Züricher Zeitung in an interview on Oct. 30. She was asked if she would be changing anything for next season, to which she replied, “I will not start for the teamTBB, to which I belonged to since 2010, but under my name. As an individual athlete I have the opportunity to get more of my own sponsors. This is all currently being negotated.”*

When asked if that meant she would no longer be coached by Brett Sutton, she simply replied “I cannot say anything on that at the moment.”*

Steffen has been one of the most consistent women in recent years at the Ironman World Championship but has yet to win the world title. In the past four Kona races she has finished second twice (2010, 2012) and fifth twice (2011, 2013).
