Flying to a triathlon next month? Good news: In celebration of the 2011 Tour de France, all bike fees will be waived on JetBlue flights for the month of July. Plus, starting Saturday July 2 at 8 a.m. EST, you can watch live coverage of the Tour on VERSUS (channel 37) while you’re in the air.

Even outside of the July special, JetBlue still only charges a $50 to ship a bike, a relatively low fee compared to some airlines that charge upwards of $150. Couple that with reasonable ticket prices and generous legroom and JetBlue flies to the top of our “favorite airlines” list.

In addition to its home town of New York City, JetBlue jets to some of the biggest cycling cities in the country, including: Austin, Texas; Chicago, Ill.; Denver, Colo.; Portland, Ore.; Richmond, Va.; Rochester, N.Y.; San Diego, Calif.; San Francisco, Calif.; and Seattle, Wash. Also of note is that JetBlue plans to introduce service to St. Thomas, St. Croix (70.3, anyone?), La Romana and Dominican Republic later this year.
