Yahoo Sport contributor and minimalist runner Nadine Haskell is angry. She’s upset, because she is the recent victim of fraud that fellow “Born to Run” enthusiasts should take heed of. Trying to find the best deal on the shoes, Haskell surfed the Internet and landed on a page that appeared to be an outlet for Vibram.
The store was located overseas and she was made to wait for the shoes.
It took a week for them to arrive. “They had a strong rubber odor, but I thought that was because they were sealed inside the package,” writes Haskell. “Once I got them on, complete disappointment came over me as I realized the shoes didn’t fit.”
Haskell’s husband later discovered that one shoe was actually shorter than the other. When Haskell decided to return them, she found that she would have to pay for the return shipping–all the way to Shanghai, China.When she wrote the company, they replied that they would have to determine if the shoes were actually the wrong size before she would be given her money back.
