A volunteer hit by a cyclist during the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon is out of intensive care and recovering slowly, her employer said yesterday.
Carly Williams, 27, a Briton, was working at an aid station at the race six weeks ago when a professional triathlete crashed into her.
Paul Coackley, principal of the British School Al Khubairat, where Miss Williams is a physical education teacher, said she was off the critical list.
“Miss Williams had some anticipated surgery towards the end of last week which went well,” he said. “Miss Williams is making encouraging progress.”
