2008 Foster Grant World Champion and AVIA athlete Joanna Zeiger is returning to Sonoma County, CA to defend her 2008 title at the Vineman Ironman 70.3 on Sunday, July 19th. She’ll be facing off against fellow AVIA teammate Tyler Stewart who came in 2nd to Joanna at the Vineman in 2008 and who just recently won Ford Ironman Coeur d’Alene.

2008 proved to be a winning 70.3 season for Joanna.  She dominated the 70.3 series with wins at Eagleman Ironman 70.3 in June, Vineman Ironman 70.3 in July, and two wins in September at the 5430 Boulder Long Course and Ironman 70.3 Muskoka.  Her final victory of the year was the 70.3 Foster Grant World Championship in Clearwater Springs, FL in November.

Joanna will be facing an impressive field of women when she goes up against fellow AVIA athletes Tracy Robertson, Pip Taylor and Alexis Smith as well as other heavy hitters Becky Lavelle, Linsey Corbin and Dede Griesbauer.

Vineman Ironman 70.3 presented by AVIA is a popular and highly competitive triathlon that is now in its 19th year.  Joanna will be a featured panelist at the AVIA Athlete Welcome Reception on Friday, July 17th, 2009.
