Jesse Thomas earned an Ironman title in his first attempt at the distance, while Anja Baranek dominated the women's race.

Sylvain Rota (FRA) and Regula Rohrbach (SUI) outlasted the competition at Ironman Wales to take the titles in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
