Even though summer is around the corner, Brussels sprouts never go out of style. Especially this sweet and salty version—roasted in maple syrup, with toasty almonds and smoky bacon. Try pairing them with your favorite backyard BBQ items.
¾ pound Brussels sprouts, ends trimmed and halved
1/3 cup almonds, roughly chopped
3 pieces bacon or turkey bacon, diced
1 ½ TBSP pure maple syrup
1 TBSP olive oil
¼ tsp, each, sea salt and freshly cracked pepper
1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Toss all of the ingredients with the Brussels sprouts on a large rimmed baking sheet.
3. Roast for about 20 minutes, tossing several times. The sprouts should be golden, with the leaves slightly charred and the bacon crispy.
