PR Bar
$19.95 for 12 bars

The chocolate mint flavor of PR (“personal record”) Bar is nutrient dense, with 200 calories, 15 grams of protein and 22 grams of carbs. This gluten-free bar has a surprising crispness to it (similar to a Girl Scout Thin Mint cookie) and does a good job of masking the high protein content (the flavor is slight). Available in eight other flavors. Prbar.com

Luna Bar
$18.75 for 15 bars

The peanut honey pretzel flavor is salty and sweet with just enough icing. Designed for women, the 190-calorie bar contains folic acid, calcium, iron and vitamin D, in addition to 9 grams of protein and 22 grams of carbs. We loved the peanut butter chips and thought the bar could even use a little more pretzel. Luna Bars are available in 15 flavors. Lunabar.com

Bonk Breaker
$27.50 for 12 bars

Almond cherry chunk is the newest high-protein flavor from Bonk Breaker, and it’s packed with 15 grams of protein and 24 grams of carbs in the 245-calorie bar. It’s gluten- and dairy-free and made with almond butter, dark chocolate chips and bing cherries, a delectable combo with only a mild flavor hint of the high protein content. Bonkbreaker.com

Honey Stinger Organic Stinger Waffle
$1.39 each

These chocolate waffles are a go-to snack around our offices. They contain 160 calories, 1 gram of protein and 19 grams of carbs. The waffle and chocolate combo is a palate pleaser, though they can be a bit crumbly when trying to eat one-handed during a ride. Honeystinger.com
