The Draw: Complete, Comfortable Freedom
The obvious advantage to a sleeveless suit is unrestricted arm movement, and XTERRA nailed the arm openings on the Valor, keeping water out without pinching anywhere around the shoulder. The hydrophobic material felt slightly thicker than that used on the other suits tested, making the Valor a solid contender for races on the cooler end of the wetsuit-illegal spectrum. (We realize that’s ironic given it’s sleeveless.) The auto-locking zipper is impossible to shut on your own without having the contortionist skills of a Cirque de Soleil cast member, but it comes off easily. If you want a suit that’s eye-catching and comfy rather than super-sausagey-streamlined, look no further than the Valor.
