The Trail Glove 5 sings out “natural” with its close-to-the-ground feel and zero drop. The breathable, mesh lining works with traditional lacing, and the plastic heel counter secures the foot to the Vibram- soled, barely-there slipper-like shoe that features a molded nylon shank in the arch, integrated footbed, and minimal midsole padding for protection. There is a sense of unfiltered trail connection with this shoe, which is both a good and a bad thing—depending on how rugged the trail and the runner’s preference for underfoot feedback.
