The Draw: Miles of Midsole Bliss

Under Armour’s new HOVR cushioning platform—the foundation of the Sonic—hits that sweet spot, where impact dampening, absorption, and a bounce-back response all come together. Combining midsole materials, including Dow Chemical’s olefin, in a proprietary foam with mesh web, the Sonic serves up a firm, controlled, and responsive ride that encouraged our testers to run with what felt like a naturally high cadence. The upper mesh was breathable, conforming, and secure—and stylish. At $100, or $110 for the digitally-connected version), the price is right.

$100 ($110 Connected); 8mm drop; W 8 oz/M 9.6 oz
