A vast amount of research is constantly being put into decreasing recovery times for athletes. One of the ways to do so is through infrared light therapy, which is characterized by a unique type of light that’s much stronger than other wavelengths. This enables the light to penetrate infrared light therapydeeper into the muscle to reduce pain and inflammation in injured tissues. Although it may seem like a new fad, infrared light therapy has been around for a while: NASA actually conducted research during the early 2000s on it, and there have been recent studies showing its potential to inhibit pain signals and release nitric oxide (which increases blood flow).

The LumiWave is a new, compact way to add infrared light therapy to your at-home recovery regimen, and it comes in two different options—a single strip version (200 LED’s) and a double strip version (400 LED’s). Its easy-to-use design and simple instructions make it usable virtually anywhere. Simply wrap the LED strip(s) around the desired area of the body, turn on the power, and prepare for either a 20-minute (high temperature) or 30-minute (low temperature) therapy session.

LumiWave Single (200 LED’s), $450
LumiWave Double (400 LED’s), $580
