The Draw: Fast, But Slippery When Wet
The Metron 55 wheelset is a quality-built mid-depth aero wheelset with great performance in dry conditions. On our test rides, these wheels felt stiff under acceleration, cornering, and sprinting. The wheels handle confidently and brake well in dry conditions but do not stop well when wet. The inner rim width measures roughly 17mm, which is comparable to most others in today’s high-end wheel market. These wheels set up easily and come with brake pads and wheel bags. Overall, these wheels are a great alternative to the industry-standard Zipp 404 if you’re looking to spend a few hundred dollars less.
