The Draw: Race-Ready for Any Distance
Quintana Roo’s latest disc-equipped offering helps usher in a trend that has already been cemented into the road bike world. The included cable-actuated disc brakes provide excellent, consistent stopping power—even on rainy days with carbon rims. Aside from the obvious opportunity to create carbon clinchers that won’t overheat on descents, having a consistent, aluminum braking surface means that you’ll actually use the brakes less and stay in aero longer, knowing you can confidently stop when necessary. Boasting one of the smoothest rides in its price range, the PRsix wasn’t the snappiest when standing, but cut corners like a knife and had excellent straight-line tracking on fast descents with wild crosswinds. As QR is a tri-only brand, also expect to find a super-steep seat angle option on this beautifully hand-painted frame.
