The Draw: Proactive Safety for the Connected Rider
Go Varia if you want to play an active, gamer-style, role in protecting yourself against whatever comes your way from behind. As vehicles (cars or larger) breach your 140-meter rearward perimeter, you are notified on your head unit display, while the tail light grid brightens and flashes from its usual pattern to help warn drivers of your presence. If you are already dialed in to the Garmin ecosystem, or plan to be, the taillight easily pairs up with your compatible Edge head unit, saving you $100. If not, select the bundle ($299), and get the slick bar/stem mounted mini-head unit, which provides an intuitive warning as vehicles approach from behind. As usual, Garmin o ers multiple solutions for mounting the taillight, including one for aero posts.
