The Draw: Tubeless for Dummies
The Mavic Comete Pro wheelset is a deep-depth, disc brake-compatible, aero carbon wheelset. Out of the box, they come with tires and tubeless valves installed—a nice surprise. Setting up tubeless tires can be di cult, so for the sake of testing, we removed the tire, reinstalled it, and were pleased to find how easy the process was. We were able to get the bead to lock in with a frame pump, when normally an air compressor is required for the same task. On the road, these wheels felt smooth, fast, and compliant. Despite the wheels being considerably deep (64mm), they accelerate quickly and are fairly nimble. These wheels are a great value, especially when you consider they come with a high-quality set of tires.
