The reason most athletes tend to skip post-run foam rolling is pretty simple: laziness. (Let’s face it—it takes effort to self-inflict pain after a tiring workout.) Roll Recovery has created a new tool that banishes some of the excuses by doing part of the hurts-so-good work for you. Instead of using body weight (foam roller) or your own strength (The Stick) to provide the pressure for self-massage, the R8 delivers force through the use of powerful springs. The contraption, which adjusts for various muscles and leg sizes, has four Rollerblade-like wheels on each side to roll up and down to flush out your legs. Now all you have to do is try not to cringe as it works through those sensitive spots in your IT band.
