Saturday’s women’s Olympic triathlon came down to a sprint finish. Coming down the finish chute it was a battle between Australia’s Densham, Sweden’s Lisa Norden and Switzerland’s Nicola Spirig. Densham didn’t have the sprint legs and fell off the pace quickly. Spirig established a small gap, but Norden quickly caught up. The two reached the finish line together and earned an identical finish time of 1:59:48. When the two crossed, no one was sure who had won. Eventually it was announced that a photo finish revealed Spirig had earned the gold. Check out the complete sprint finish above.
