Tri-California Events and The Monterey County Parks are pleased to announce that the Wildflower Triathlons practice swim course at Lake San Antonio South Shore, is now available.
See the announcement from race organizers below:
The practice course is currently built out by buoy’s that correlate with the swim distance of each the Mountain Bike, Olympic and Long Course race near Harris Creek on the south end of the lake. Our staff believes it is important for each athlete to feel acclimated to the distance of their choice for race weekend, May 2-4.
We welcome all triathlon clubs, collegiate teams, and individual participants to arrange a training weekend in preparation for the 2014 Wildflower Triathlons.
Tri-California wants to thank each of our athletes for their loyalty and patience through the challenges that this year’s weather has brought us.
“In the past 30+ years Tri-California has seen every condition imaginable, and we feel confident that we can provide a memorable race to all those attending. We have teams meeting regularly to come up with all possible options. Rest assured that Tri-California and the Monterey County Parks Department will have a great course in place to maximize the water and trails we have available to use,” says Race Director, Colleen Bousman.
Bousman continues, “We are aware of the low water conditions, but currently the lake is still adequate for a Long Course swim distance. After the rainy season, we will make a final decision on any course modifications. We are moving forward planning for a great 2014 Wildflower Triathlons with Long Course, Olympic Distance and Mountain Bike events.”
