The 2015 Ironman World Championship top American Tim O’Donnell took a risk on the bike and rode ahead of the pack of known super-cyclists like Sebastian Kienle during yesterday’s race and it paid off. O’Donnell, who hadn’t cracked the top three at this race before, had his best race on the island ever, which was especially momentous because his wife, 2014 champion Mirinda Carfrae, was forced to drop out during the bike. O’Donnell recaps his day and how he felt during his race to third.
