Universal Sports To Air Live Coverage Of WTS Chicago

Universal Sports Network will air exclusive live national television and online coverage of the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago this weekend.

Universal Sports Network will air exclusive live national television and online coverage of the 2015 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final Chicago this weekend.

The elite women’s race will air live Friday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the elite men’s event live on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. ET both on air and online at Universalsports.com to authenticated users. Following the live telecasts, Universal Sports will air encore presentations of both races: the women on Saturday at 2 a.m. and 12 p.m. ET, and the men on Saturday at 10 p.m. and Sunday at 2 a.m. ET.

A total prize purse of $280,000 will be awarded in Chicago, as well as an additional bonus pool for the world champions based on the final season standings. Defending ITU world champions Gwen Jorgensen and Javier Gomez currently lead the ITU World Triathlon Series rankings and will be lining up to defend their crowns in Chicago.

Universal Sports Network is available nationwide, and will be in free preview with many of its distribution partners in September for the ITU’s final event including DIRECTV, DISH, Time Warner Cable, Verizon FiOS, CenturyLink Prism, and numerous regional cable and IPTV operators in markets across the country.
