Tour De France Stage One Time-Trial Start Times

The world’s greatest cycling event rolls out of Monaco today. Riders, including seven-time Tour winner Lance Armstrong, leave Monaco at 4:00 pm local time and set off on a no-joke 15.5k time trial. Defending Tour champion, Carlos Sastre of Spain, is scheduled to start last.

Riders face a significant challenge in the stage 1 individual time trial over the roads of the French Riviera’s independent city/state of Monaco. The short, hilly stage follows a clockwise route from its start-finish near the Monaco Harbor, climbing past the Monte Carlo Casino and into French territory along the Moyenne Corniche.
