Tim O’Donnell, Tine Deckers On Top At 70.3 Puerto Rico

The United States' Tim O'Donnell and Belgium's Tine Deckers claimed the victories at the 2016 Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico triathlon today in San Juan.

The United States’ Tim O’Donnell and Belgium’s Tine Deckers claimed the victories at the 2016 Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico triathlon today in San Juan.

O’Donnell, who reclaimed the title that he last won in 2012, put together the 3:50:53 win with a 24:17 swim, a 2:04:24 bike and a race-best 1:17:47 run. Australia’s Leon Griffin had the second-fastest run of the day (1:18:08) to finish in the runner-up spot at 3:54:21. American Cameron Dye rounded out the top three at 3:55:09.

Deckers’ day consisted of a 28:19 swim, a dominant 2:15:59 bike and a 1:30:31 half-marathon, giving her the victory at 4:20:22. Defending champion Sarah Haskins (USA) finished second at 4:22:16, with fellow American Linsey Corbin claiming third in 4:23:34.
