Rev3 went all in and built a 15-lane 25-meter pool in the middle of the Richmond International Raceway for the launch of Rev3 Rush. Athletes swam in the pop-up pool and then rode and ran on the racetrack. Athletes participated in various heats and qualifiers.

Age groupers and kids could race up to six times for the price of a single entry. The Rev3 Rush format gave each racer three opportunities throughout two days to better their times to try to qualify for the Age Group Final on day two. At the conclusion of all of the Age Group Final races, the top 8 times, regardless of age, competed in one final race, the Grand Final.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better first time event, especially with this new format of racing. We learned a ton and believe this style of racing has unlimited potential and opens up so many possibilities in the sport of triathlon that do not currently exist,” Charlie Patten, founder of Rev3, said. “This style lends itself so well from beginners to the most seasoned triathletes. The athletes really seem to enjoy the festive environment due the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received. We are currently working on many new venues to bring this to.”
