Seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong took his second 70.3 win in two weeks by dominating Ironman 70.3 Hawaii triathlon on Hawaii’s Big Island. Armstrong combined a 23:22 swim, a 2:01:46 bike and a 1:22:29 half marathon to take the 3:50:55 win in extreme weather conditions. The time establishes a new course record, previously held by Chris McCormack, who set the record of 3:57:18 in 2007. Armstrong’s future in triathlon is now in doubt because he faces sanction from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency. The World Triathlon Corporation has said Armstrong will not be allowed to compete during the investigation, making an appearance at the 2012 Ironman World Championship doubtful.
