Temperatures this year hovered around 52 degrees Fahrenheit and currents were stronger than normal. More than 2,000 professionals and age-groupers took to the water on Sunday, June 5, jumping off the San Francisco Belle ferry. The race followed with an 18-mile bike ride and 8-mile run that took athletes through Baker Beach and up a 400-step sand ladder.
