Canadian Lionel Sanders will be a bit of a wild card as he makes the start at the Ironman World Championship on Saturday. He’s proven his abilities over the distance (posting a then-record breaking time of 7:44:29 at 2016 Ironman Arizona), but has struggled in Kona. Late last year he said he’d be skipping the 2017 Kona race, but some developments over the summer caused him to have a change of heart.
