Australia’s Clayton Fettell and Great Britain’s Rachel Joyce earned victories on a hot and wind day in Lawrence, Kansas.

Fettell led the pack out of the swim and carried that momentum to the finish line. The Australian posted the fastest swim, bike and run to take the victory in 3:56:59. Fellow Australian Paul Ambrose was not far behind, finishing second in 3:59:33. American Ben Hoffman earned third at just over four hours.

Joyce’s victory came in large part to her field-leading 2:22:10 bike split. She continued to push the pace on the run and blew the field away, winning in 4:13:46. More than 20 minutes later American Amanda Stevens crossed the line for second, with Kristen Sass earning third.
