Great Britain’s Tim Don and Canada’s Heather Wurtele won today’s Ironman 70.3 Moterrey in Mexico by running away from the competition.

Don combined a 23:13 swim, a 2:07:33 bike and a 1:13:38 half marathon to earn the 3:46:59 victory. Mexico’s Francisco Serrano used a strong bike to finish second, while American Ben Hoffman was solid across the three disciplines to earn third.

Wurtele found herself with a bit of a deficit out of the swim (26:41), rode her way into contention on the bike (2:18:32) and then built a lead on the run (1:19:26). Denmark’s Helle Frederiksen had a strong swim and bike to finish second. American Caitlin Snow had the fastest run of the women (1:19:06) to finish third.
