Cunningham, Riveros Take Ironman 70.3 Pucón

Australia’s Richie Cunningham and Chile’s Barbara Riveros Diaz claimed the victories at the first 70.3 on the 2015 calendar.
Cunningham put together a 23:32 swim, a 2:12:28 bike and a stellar 1:18:55 half-marathon to grab the victory in 3:59:33. Chile’s Felipe Barraza earned the silver spot in his home country, while Argentina’s Mario de Elias claimed third.
Riveros held off a challenge from her fellow countrywoman Valentina Carvallo, thanks to a 25:53 swim, a 2:30:09 bike and a 1:29:35 half marathon. Riveros crossed the finish line at 4:30:12, with Carvallo following in second at 4:31:45. American Heather Jackson rounded out the top three with a 4:34:11 finish.
