Zoot Sports is currently accepting applications from U.S. based athletes who would like to be considered for the 2010 Zoot Sports Elite Triathlon Team. Launched in 2006, the Zoot Team is comprised of 20-25 pro and amateur elite athletes primarily focused on Olympic distance, 70.3 and Ironman distance racing. Zoot Sports and Team Sports are happy to support the team athletes as they accomplish their goals and compete in the sports they love. For 2010, the team will be accepting 10 new applicants at the pro and amateur elite level.
The team will be launched at the 2010 California Ford 70.3 Half-Ironman in Oceanside, CA.
To apply, please send a full race resume with past results, a 2010 tentative race schedule, a digital race photo, and a brief bio outlining why you would like to be part of the team to Jake Jansen at jake@zootsports.com and Tom Schuler at tjsplow@aol.com. To be considered, athletes must be top age group competitors, plan on racing at a minimum of six to eight events throughout 2010 (with at least three high-profile events such as Wildflower, Chicago Triathlon, the Ironman 70.3 Series or related events) and be strong brand ambassadors in their local racing/training community, promoting the Zoot Sports brand and other team sponsors.
If you are committed to racing hard, having fun and representing Zoot Sports, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. The application deadline is December 18, 2009. Team Selection will be based on the following:
· Prior results and/or potential ability to place at major triathlons
· Your ability to represent and promote the Zoot Sports brand and other team sponsors
· Your location – we desire to have representation across major triathlon markets
· Your 2010 race schedule, which must include major U.S. races with 500 athletes or more
The Zoot Sports Triathlon Team will be managed by Team Sports Inc., who has over a decade of experience in team management for cycling and multisport teams including the Timex Multisport Team.
The team will also have a bike sponsor, nutrition sponsor and timing sponsor that are already committed for the 2010 season. Furthermore, the Zoot Ultra Team is the only team that is covered with apparel and shoes by one brand.
Full program details will be supplied to the athletes selected for the team. Companies who are interested in being a part of the team should contact Tom Schuler at tjsplow@aol.com or Jake at jake@zootsports.com.
