The 2014 XTERRA Southeast Championships return to Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Ala. this Saturday, May 17. The men’s start list features all top-five finishers from the 2013 race, with defending champion Josiah Middaugh (USA) as the favorite. The women’s race will see a new champion with Lesley Paterson (SCO) not on the start line. It’s hard to pick against Flora Duffy (BER), who has been dominating the XTERRA circuit this year. The Alabama course features some tough mountain biking, which will favor more technical riders like Shonny Vanlandingham (USA).
