The Hardest Climb In The World

Those triathletes looking for an epic ride, look no further. Registration is open for the 2011 Sea to Stars cycling expedition on the Kohala Coast, Hawaii on Saturday, August 13, 2011, which is called “the hardest hill climb in the world.”

Those triathletes looking for an epic ride, look no further. Registration is open for the 2011 Sea to Stars cycling expedition on the Kohala Coast in Hawaii on Saturday, August 13, 2011, which is called “the hardest hill climb in the world.”

Cyclicts depart from the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows and cycle to the top of Mauna Kea Volcano riding a distance of around 49 miles and climbing to 9,300 feet in elevation. The elevation is at a grade of 17 percent.

Mauna Kea is considered the world’s tallest mountain from the sea floor (30,000 feet tall), higher than Mount Everest.
