An indoor triathlon was held to honor fallen San Diego police officer Jeremy Henwood.

Surveillance video from Aug. 6, 2011 shows Henwood at a McDonalds moments before he was shot and killed. In the video is his last act of kindness: buying a 10-year-old boy cookies and a meal.

People gathered at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center to swim, cycle and treadmill run in memory of Henwood.

“We have officers from several different departments and community members who are out here … and it was all about raising funds for the STAR/PAL program, our underserved youth and our police memorial fund,” said Assistant San Diego police chief Shelley Zimmerman. “It was everyone coming together today.”
