Sally Meyerhoff’s Memorial Draws Thousands
As one of the country's top women runners, Sally Meyerhoff was training for the 2012 Olympics and her next triathlon. However, a traffic crash killed her instantly and lead to a large gathering of her friends and family Saturday.

As one of the country’s top women runners, Sally Meyerhoff was training for the 2012 Olympics and her next triathlon. However, a traffic crash killed her instantly and lead to a large gathering of her friends and family Saturday.
Meyerhoff’s brother Daniel said, “She lived to compete and be a great athlete.”
Her sister Samantha Meyerhoff said, “She was so happy at this point in her life and it shined through in everything that she did.”
However, it was Meyerhoff’s roommate Katy Mckie that best explained the ever growing crowd that came to remember Sally.
“It is amazing how many people were really touched by her,” said Mckie.
