The Revolution3 triathlon series today announces its 2014 amateur prize money program. The series, in its sixth year, announced last month that after this weekend’s Rev3 Knoxville race it will no longer offer a professional prize purse. Instead, the prize money will focus on age-groupers with $4,800 being offered at eight races on the 2014 calendar.

“We are excited to bring prize money to the Rev3 events for our amateur racers for 2014,” Rev3 founder Charlie Patten said in a press release. “We have always been about providing a quality and unique race environment to every athlete and this allows us to showcase our amateur athlete fields.”

The money will be split up among four different categories at each race: Men 40 and under, men 40 and up, women 40 and under, and women 40 and up.

The prize money will be offered at the following events:
Quassy HalfRev
Williamsburg Olympic Rev
Maine OlympicRev
Poconos HalfRev
Cedar Point FullRev
South Carolina HalfRev
Florida HalfRev

The prize breakdown for each category at each race will be:
First – $500
Second – $350
Third -$200
Fourth – $100
Fifth – $50
*Athletes with elite licenses are eligible to win prize money, however they will race within their respective age group.

The age-group championship will again take place in Knoxville and will offer cash and prizes totaling $20,000.
