While many professionals are resting or plotting their plans for 2014 Kona qualification, 2012 Ironman world champion kicked off his “off-season” by running the 2013 ING New York City Marathon with his wife Jamielle. The pair ran the 26.2-mile event in a time of 3:22:32, a 7:44 min./mile pace.
Pete tweeted after the race, “An amazing experience running NY Marathon with @jaimielle1. We both a bit sore but happy with 3:22 :)”
Jamielle tweeted back to him “@petejjacobs thks for the run Hun! Happy with it considering next to none long runs & fluey! Amazing to have finished, new fave sport:)”
