Race car driver Jenson Button is moving his triathlon charity event to Derby, England in hopes it will grow. The event consists of multiple heats, with athletes competing against Button himself. Learn more at Jensonbutton.com.
Members of the public will be given the chance to take on Jenson Button when the 2009 Formula One world champion hosts the fourth edition of his annual triathlon later this year.
The event moves from its former home at Luton Hoo to Derby’s city centre and will raise funds for Cancer Research UK. It takes place on July 12, one week after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Speaking of the competition, Button, in Jerez for the opening winter test of the season, said: ‘We are very excited to be heading to Derby, the move allows us to grow the capacity of the triathlon whilst also being very careful that the event doesn’t lose the charm and family atmosphere we have built over the last few years.
