Jarrod Shoemaker Files Lawsuit Against USA Triathlon

Mynewsla.com is reporting that American professional triathlete Jarrod Shoemaker, who was a member of the 2008 USA Olympic team, is suing USA Triathlon for allegedly reducing the number of top athletes on the board of directors in violation of California law.

Shoemaker filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against USA Triathlon Inc., asking that its leadership be required to follow the California Corporations Code and return the number of athletes on the board to 25 percent instead of 20 percent.

According to the complaint, the bylaws were changed by vote earlier this year to reduce the number of athletes on the board to 20 percent, but “elite athletes” such as Shoemaker never had a chance to vote on the change.
