Taking place this Saturday, June 13, approximately 1,500 professional and age-group athletes will take part in the second annual Ironman 70.3 Boise Triathlon, presented by Ford.
A professional field consisting of some of the sport’s top contenders will vie for the title, to include Ironman World Champion, Craig Alexander, as well as multiple Ironman and 70.3 titleholder, Chris Lieto. For the women, Samantha McGlone will be looking for her first title after returning from time off to deal with an injury.
The course takes athletes through scenic Lucky Peak Reservoir, downtown Boise and the Boise Greenbelt. Athletes end their journey with a finish line celebration in the dynamic BoDo district.
New for 2009, the event will include a 2:00 p.m. MDT afternoon start in place of the traditional early-morning start time used in 2008.
